About the role
The Polysomnographic Technologist works under the supervision of the Center for Sleep Disorders Director, performing diagnostic testing including equipment calibration, setup, performance, documentation, and troubleshooting of Polysomnographic recordings.
Responsibilities
- Tabulate and process test information
- Perform oversight, education, and training of PSG and student technologists during the work shift
- Participate in performance improvement programs and new program development
- Assume responsibility and accountability for patients in the department, providing care through assessment, observation, and documentation
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to perform emergency procedures
- Ability to work in a stressful environment under minimal supervision
- Proficiency in organizational and prioritizing skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification or Registered preferred
- Enrolled in or completed A-STEP Online Self Study Modules
- Experience demonstrating proficiency in Polysomnographic recordings and scoring/analysis
- Current BLS certification
