Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pour premixed paint into reservoir for painting and clean paint reservoir after lot is complete.
  • Mix paint to formula or customer specified request.
  • Place paint racks onto conveyor or onto transfer table that carries them into machine.
  • Mix paints with thinner solution according to formula.
  • Monitor robots and quality-inspect robot performance.
  • Remove fasteners from the conveyor belt; package and palletize finished product.
  • Operate all machine computers.
  • Set up pumps, hoses, and spray guns.
  • Understand the complete painting process.
  • Perform and document daily/preventive maintenance per schedule (cleaning, inspection, lubrication, filter/line checks, and basic adjustments) to ensure safe operation, consistent product quality, and optimal equipment uptime; report abnormal conditions and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Problem-solve by tracking process steps from start to finish.
  • Manage and organize spare parts for machine.
  • Manual operation of oven.
  • Serve as a backup for other paint processes (manual spray painter, dumper, manual paint mixer) and perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use and confidently move around computer display screens and diagnostics.
