PRP- Advanced Provider
As a PRP Wound Care Provider at NIVA Health, you will perform a wide variety of duties focused on delivering Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) procedures for advanced wound care. This role emphasizes quality of care and customer service, ensuring the best patient experience throughout their journey.
About the Role
You will serve as both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting prevention practices and helping patients lead healthy lives. This position requires collaboration with clinical services staff to deliver direct patient services, with a focus on patient comfort and trust. The role involves providing advanced wound care, including PRP therapy, wound debridement, allografting, and conservative wound care while awaiting insurance approval. You will deliver comprehensive, mobile wound care services directly to patients in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced wound care treatments, including Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, venipuncture (blood draws), PRP preparation, wound debridement, allografting, and dressing changes.
- Perform venipuncture to obtain blood samples and prepare PRP according to established protocols for eligible wound care patients.
- Administer PRP treatments safely and effectively while monitoring patient response.
- Assess, plan, and implement appropriate wound care management based on patient needs and best practices.
- Function independently to perform appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to the patient's specific needs.
- Prescribe appropriate treatment modalities and monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Provide conservative wound care and management while awaiting insurance authorization for advanced treatments.
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including reviewing medical history and current health conditions, to determine the most appropriate wound care plan.
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound care techniques and PRP therapy expectations, ensuring understanding and compliance with care plans.
- Travel to patients' homes and provide high-quality, individualized wound care in non-clinical environments, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Work closely with an interdisciplinary team, including providers, medical assistants, case managers, and intake coordinators, to ensure coordinated and seamless care for all patients.
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss treatment plans, patient progress, and any necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Monitor patient outcomes and ensure appropriate coding for reimbursement purposes.
- Maintain professional licensure, DEA registration (as applicable), certification, and practice agreements as required by the Board of Medicine or the Board of Nursing, national certification organizations, and the institution (in state of practice).
- Participate in/present at NIVA Health meetings.
- Utilize time in a constructive and efficient manner.
- Complete other duties as assigned at the discretion of management.
Requirements
- Education: Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited program.
- Active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or DPM in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care, preferably in advanced wound care procedures such as debridement and allografting.
- Experience performing venipuncture (blood draws) is required.
- Experience performing or assisting with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) procedures is preferred.
- Mobile or home healthcare experience is preferred.
- Certification in Wound Care preferred or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for mobile care visits.
