Provider Technology and EPIC Training Manager, Information Technology, Full-Time, Variable Shift
Job Description
The Provider Technology and Epic Training Program Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and continuous improvement of MarinHealth’s Epic end-user training program. This role combines Epic Principal Trainer expertise with people leadership, program governance, and instructional design to ensure physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and staff are prepared to safely, efficiently, and consistently use Epic in support of patient care.
Serving as the accountable owner of Epic training at MarinHealth, this role oversees training resources and standards, while leading training programs for providers and APPs to drive effective system adoption, workflow efficiency, and alignment with clinical workflows, policies, and patient care standards.
Job Specifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, education, informatics, information systems, or related field required. Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of Epic end-user training experience, including provider (physician/APP) training.
- 3+ years of leadership or program management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience managing enterprise-level training programs and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Epic & Clinical Expertise:
- Epic Principal Trainer certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
- Strong knowledge of inpatient and/or ambulatory clinical workflows.
- Demonstrated experience training clinical staff on Epic workflows and system adoption.
- Leadership & Program Management:
- Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
- Able to lead and scale training programs, manage priorities, and ensure coverage.
- Instructional Design & Systems:
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Experience delivering instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs.
- Familiarity with learning management systems and training analytics.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Effective organizational and program management skills.
- Collaborative leadership style aligned with MarinHealth CARES standards.
- Ability to operate in complex, fast-paced clinical environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multiple Epic certifications.
- Experience supporting Epic go-lives, upgrades, or optimization initiatives.
- Experience with physician and APP training programs.
- Background in clinical operations, informatics, or education.
- Project or change management certification (e.g., PMP, Prosci).

The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth’s compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
