Provider Contracts Project Manager
Virtual, Arizona – Hybrid work schedule (must reside in the state of Arizona)
About the role
The Contracting Project Manager will manage and execute the provider contracting process for network services, including all facilities, physicians, and affiliates ("Network"), from initiation through completion. This role defines and executes project objectives, requirements, and scope while overseeing quality control to ensure a smooth transition to production operations. The position involves interfacing externally and internally related to the contracting process and reimbursement, conducting research, performing basic problem-solving, and responding to information requests in a timely manner. Responsibilities also include database maintenance and validation of data.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete provider contracting process for hospital-based services, on-call coverage, medical directors, co-management, and other administrative positions in collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Provider Contracts and the Provider Contracting Team. This includes:
- Handling termination letters and related correspondence
- Reviewing contract language and rates as assigned
- Managing all contract documents, including final execution and issuance
- Processing electronic payments if required
- Overseeing the uploading of contracts into the contract management system
- Streamline contract processes and educate individuals on guidelines, rules, and procedures.
- Attend meetings with various departments, maintain open communication, and provide consultation using sound judgment.
- Communicate effectively across all audiences and transfer knowledge of business processes to project team members.
- Resolve conflicts and issues in a timely manner, escalating to leadership as needed.
- Build relationships and provide information by establishing positive collaborative liaisons both externally and internally.
- Interview, research, gather data, document, and analyze business requirements to propose solutions.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders across all business units to define business needs and processes.
- Maintain and validate data in databases to manage the contracting process, including provider demographics, contracting terms, Fair Market Value (FMV) terms and payments, and provider payments.
- Contribute to ongoing development and support, including governance, portfolio management, project intake, methodology, and alignment with project standards and policies.
- Prepare and execute project schedules, including timelines, internal and external communications, and operational requirements.
- Provide weekly project status reports to stakeholders addressing project milestone status, issues, and budget.
- Ensure all project documentation is stored in MS SharePoint and the contract management system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of work-related experience (required)
- 2 years of related experience in healthcare, preferably working with physicians in a hospital or physician group (required)
- 5 years of related experience in healthcare, such as facility and/or physician experience (preferred)
Skills
- Certified Associate in Project Management (preferred)
