About the role

The Provider Compensation Analyst provides compensation consultative services for Erlanger Medical Group employed providers and independent contracted providers of Erlanger Health. The role involves working closely with leadership in Provider Recruitment, EMG Operations, and the EMG Business Office to deliver analysis of compensation design, benchmarking, physician productivity, fair market value, and contract review and management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct benchmarking and data analysis to formulate compensation recommendations that align with the system's standards for compensation programs.
  • Interpret, analyze, and implement compensation arrangements as stipulated in Provider Employment Agreements.
  • Manage components and participate in the annual/bi-annual provider contract review process by preparing productivity reports, providing recommendations on salary adjustments, and gathering and analyzing data to determine incentive goal achievements.
  • Participate in and complete annual provider compensation and productivity surveys.
  • Collaborate closely with external appraisers/consultants to obtain an analysis of fair market value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness (CR) for all proposed compensation plans.
  • Partner with Provider Recruitment and Operations teams to solve business and operations issues.
  • Serve as backup to the EMG Financial Analyst on calculations of Provider incentive compensation, variable compensation, and uploads to Payroll, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health care administration, finance, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in health/hospital administration, business administration, finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of finance or compensation experience.
  • Two (2) years of physician or provider compensation experience and/or solid understanding of physician billing and productivity measures (e.g., CPT, wRVU, Charges, Collections).
  • Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or healthcare-related environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing to key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task projects.
