Provider Assistant (Medical Assistant/CMA/RMA/LPN/EMT) - Medical Pediatrics

Job Description

We are currently looking for a medical assistant (31.5 hours/week) for our Med/Peds department. Position is eligible for part-time benefits including medical and dental insurance. Applicants do not need previous experience or training/certification as a medical assistant but do need to meet the minimum requirements for the position. Other part-time and full-time opportunities may be available.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document basic medical history
• Take vital signs and document findings in the patient record
• Review annual wellness questionnaire with appropriate patients
• Administer immunizations
• Monitor messages and relay clinician responses via phone calls
• Enter orders for laboratory services

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with or without certification (AAMA or AMT)
• OR Current LPN (MN and WI license required)
• OR Graduate of an accredited EMT program plus current EMT license (national and Minnesota)
• PLUS current CPR certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

• One year medial assistant or LPN experience in a clinic
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record software

$3,000 HIRING BONUS for eligible candidates

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written skills; excellent customer services skills; tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions with patients, families, and care team members; An ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in all interactions; Understanding of patient education needs, able to effectively share information with patient, family members and care team members as needed; Ability to learn, retain information regarding patient care procedures; Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks; Ability to remain calm in stressful situation; Experience with Epic preferred.
