Responsibilities

  • Assists with the manufacturing of Prototype Assemblies of new products or new revisions of existing products, focusing on high quality/craftsmanship and on-time delivery (OTD).
  • Discusses product information (design, capacity, purpose, and materials) with engineers and other personnel.
  • Assesses written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations.
  • Performs a broad range of production tasks, including:
    • Mechanical Assembly using manual and powered tools
    • System Testing and Debugging
    • Packaging and Crating
  • Understands mechanical systems and performs assembly tasks using provided Development Basis information, focusing on the "how" and "why" behind the "what."
  • Interprets Engineering Drawings and design intent.
  • Trains others effectively and communicates proactively with production management and team members.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant Mechanical Assembly experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience creating prototypes is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Office 365.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions.
  • Strong reasoning ability to apply common sense to detailed written or oral instructions and handle problems with variables in standardized situations.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment

  • Safety, environmental, and health concerns may demand constant attention.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • Mandatory use of eye protection and safety shoes.
