Prototype Inspection Student

About the Role

This role involves assisting with inspection projects at various program levels, evaluating components, and supporting multiple Magna facilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate component and assembly drawings and plan inspection procedures.
• Prepare documentation for recording inspection results.
• Program CMM (Zeiss Calypso), roundness gage, profilometer, contour reader, and other inspection equipment.
• Provide “first piece” inspection data for prototype machinists and technicians.
• Perform inspections of components and/or assemblies to ISO/ANSI standards.
• Assist and support additional Magna facilities as required.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration compliance.
• Adhere to Magna’s Charter, Constitution, Code of Conduct and Ethics, and related compliance policies.
• Support and adhere to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to the established quality management system (IATF 16949).
• Comply with safety policies and procedures to ensure duties are performed safely.
• Report unsafe conditions, injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, and property damage immediately.
• Follow safety rules, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Create a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
• Develop and maintain responsive and cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Comply with Magna’s information and data protection policies.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong math skills.
• Print reading with GD&T understanding to ISO/ANSI Standards.
• Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design basics.
• Working knowledge of computer-based software.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
