Prototype Development Technician

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical and electromechanical assemblies from CAD, schematics, and verbal guidance—often with limited to no work instructions
• Perform electrical tasks including wiring, soldering, and assembling custom harnesses
• Help execute tests, diagnose issues and implement solutions in partnership with engineering teams
• Iterate on designs and incorporate frequent revisions
• Document build processes, findings, and feedback to support design
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to support development

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical prototyping or assembly
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and wiring diagrams
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues across mechanical and electrical
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• Strong communicator

Bonus Qualifications

• Degree in related technical field
• IPC certification
• Prior experience building robotic systems
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling
• Experience with 3D printing, machining, or other in-house fabrication

Pay

The US hourly range for this full-time position is between $30 - $40/hr. The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role.
