Prototype Development Technician

San Jose, CA Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our humanoid robot is designed for commercial tasks and the home. We are based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It’s time to build. We are looking for a Prototype Development Technician to take a hands-on role in building early stage mechanical and electromechanical assemblies for humanoid robot development. Responsibilities Build mechanical and electromechanical assemblies from CAD, schematics, and verbal guidance—often with limited to no work instructionsPerform electrical tasks including wiring, soldering, and assembling custom harnessesHelp execute tests, diagnose issues and implement solutions in partner with engineering teamsIterate on designs and incorporate frequent revisionsDocument build processes, findings, and feedback to support designCollaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to support development Requirements 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical prototyping or assemblyStrong mechanical and electrical aptitude Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and wiring diagramsDemonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues across mechanical and electricalComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting prioritiesStrong communicator Bonus Qualifications Degree in related technical fieldIPC certificationPrior experience building robotic systemsExperience 3D CAD modelingExperience with 3D printing, machining, or other in house fabrication The US hourly range for this full-time position is between $30 - $40/hr. The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
