Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead weekly Protestant worship services through vocal and instrumental music.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals with the Worship Team.
- Recruit, organize, and maintain volunteer musicians and vocalists.
- Cookordination worship themes, song selections, and special music with the Designated Chaplain.
- Prepare presentation slides and song lyrics for each worship service.
- Maintain a balanced repertoire of traditional hymns and contemporary worship music.
- Provide musical leadership for special services including funerals, memorial services, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, and other chapel events as requested.
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before rehearsals and worship services to prepare equipment and coordinate with chapel staff.
- Set up and restore the stage, sound equipment, microphones, music stands, and other worship equipment before and after services.
- Maintain professional conduct while working with military personnel, volunteers, and chapel staff.
- Ensure chapel facilities and equipment are secured and left in clean, orderly condition following each event.
- Cookordinate qualified substitute worship leaders when unavailable, subject to Chaplain approval.
Minimum Qualifications
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last eight (8) years serving as a Protestant Worship Leader and Musician.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead worship vocally and instrumentally.
- Be proficient on at least one lead instrument (guitar, piano, or keyboard).
- Be able to read musical notation or provide musical charts when performing by ear.
- Possess knowledge of contemporary, traditional, multicultural, and multi-denominational Protestant worship music.
- Demonstrate strong vocal harmony and worship leadership skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Proclaim, or similar worship presentation software.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Maintain active membership or regular attendance at a Protestant church and provide a pastoral endorsement letter.
- Successfully complete all installation access requirements and any required background investigations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading military chapel worship services.
- Experience directing volunteer worship teams.
- Familiarity with chapel audio systems and worship technology.
- Experience working within diverse Protestant faith traditions.
