About the role
The Department of State seeks a highly skilled individual to provide protection services in a high-threat environment. The successful candidate will support Department of State Worldwide Protective Services III (WPS III) Task Orders in austere conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day personal protective security functions.
- Drive the lead vehicle, principal's vehicle, follow vehicle, and/or act as a response agent during motorcade or similar operations.
- Carry and operate weapons as specified in daily post and detail orders.
- Participate in advance security preparations.
- Man the security post at the principal's residence, the command post, or other static posts as required.
- Serve as a member of a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience, including one (1) year of protective security assignments.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
- Proficient in English speaking, writing, and communication skills.
- Pass the pre-employment Physical Readiness Test (PRT).
- Attend and successfully complete DOS Protective Security Specialist Basic and Quick Reaction Force training courses.
- Qualify with the Glock-19, M4 or MK18 (as specified by the designated TO), M240, and M249.
- Complete the WPS III PRT.
