Protective Security Specialists - WPS III (Iraq)

About the role

The Department of State seeks candidates for a position supporting their Worldwide Protective Services III (WPS III) Task Orders in austere environments. The primary function involves protecting the client in a high-threat location through various security operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day personal protective security functions.
• Drive the lead vehicle, principal's vehicle, follow vehicle, and/or act as a response agent during motorcade or similar operations.
• Carry and operate weapons as specified in daily post and detail orders.
• Participate in advance security preparations.
• Man the security post at the principal's residence, the command post, or other static posts as required.
• Serve as a member of a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience, including at least one (1) year in protective security assignments.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
• Proficient in English communication.
• Pass the pre-employment Physical Readiness Test (PRT) and qualify with the Glock-19, M4 or MK18, M240, and M249.
• Maintain physical fitness readiness.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• Must have a valid U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
• Must be able to walk, squat, crawl, run, quickly enter/exit vehicles, maneuver around obstacles, carry heavy equipment and personnel, and operate mission-essential issued equipment requiring dexterity.
• Must be able to operate and/or travel in vehicles on improved and unimproved roadways, as well as off-road.
• Must be physically able to carry and operate firearms.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods with minimal breaks.
• Must possess no medical or physical impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries considered dangerous or unhealthy.
• Must be able to travel long distances in airplanes, helicopters, and road vehicles.
