About the role

The Department of State seeks a highly skilled individual to support their Worldwide Protective Services III (WPS III) Task Orders in austere environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the protection of the client in a high-threat location, performing various protective security functions including convoy operations, ground movements, and aerial platform support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day personal protective security functions.
  • Drive the lead vehicle, principal's vehicle, follow vehicle, and/or act as a response agent during motorcade or similar operations.
  • Carry and operate weapons as specified in daily post and detail orders.
  • Participate in advance security preparations.
  • Serve as a member of a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) team as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience, with at least one (1) year including protective security assignments.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
  • Proficient in English communication skills.
  • Pass the pre-employment Physical Readiness Test (PRT).
  • Attend and successfully complete DOS Protective Security Specialist Basic and Quick Reaction Force training courses.
  • Qualify with the Glock-19, M4 or MK18 (as specified by the designated TO), M240, and M249.
  • Complete the WPS III PRT.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of this experience must include experience in protective security assignments.
  • Experience may be gained in the employ of any national, state, provincial, local, or commercial entities providing armed protective services.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
  • Must be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must pass the pre-employment Physical Readiness Test (PRT) in order to advance in the application process for the position.
