About the role
The ProTechnician Associate role is a dynamic position that acts as a catalyst to becoming an experienced technician. It stands out in its duty to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the location's equipment yard, while also conducting basic maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure operational readiness. Working side by side with certified technicians, you will receive training and development to accurately troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment problems, perform repairs, recondition, and service heavy equipment and components. This role is a stepping stone to more advanced positions within the company, offering the opportunity to grow technical skills while supporting yard, mechanic, and technician operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance checks and basic maintenance on heavy and construction equipment to ensure they are rental-ready.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment for customers and internal transport.
- Clean, maintain, and organize equipment and machinery in the yard.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot minor issues with equipment and perform necessary repairs.
- Coordinate with the Mechanic team for more complex repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols while performing maintenance tasks.
- Support the Yard Technician team and assist with yard operations as needed.
- Collaborate with the Mechanic team to learn advanced repair skills and techniques.
Requirements
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors as required
- Some knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems and willingness to learn how to read schematics
Skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn more complex mechanical skills
- Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps, and assorted tools and equipment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative
- Safety-conscious with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Pay
$19.00-$21.00 per hour
