About the role
The Prospect Research Analyst supports the Rutgers University Foundation's fundraising and engagement process. They oversee engagement portfolio management, identify, research, and analyze potential prospects for various Schools/Units within the Rutgers Development Teams.
Responsibilities
- Support prospect management systems and processes, providing training for foundation staff.
- Validate and streamline the movement of potential prospects to development teams from both internal and external sources.
- Analyze and interpret business and financial information from fundraising information systems and external sources.
- Compile biographic, business, philanthropic, and financial data on individuals into concise reports and maintain records in fundraising information systems.
- Deliver relevant information and insights to unit personnel through meetings and conversations.
- Continue to develop industry knowledge and implement new approaches to prospect research and identification.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, contributing to the success of the team.
- Track news alerts on selected priority prospects using relevant research tools and share information according to distribution protocols.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of constituent information and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of professional experience in fundraising, alumni relations, non-profit organizations, event planning, higher education, or related fields.
Qualifications
- Leadership: Develop comprehensive project leadership and perform project analysis to devise and implement process improvements.
- Complexity: Scope of work is highly visible and pan-University or pan-foundation.
- Strategy: Assist with strategy development, projects, and proposals, and begin leading strategy sessions.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of professional experience.
Benefits
The position is budgeted for an annual salary of $55,000. Additional benefits include:
