Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a leading provider of remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars. This position involves planning, scheduling, and managing proposal efforts, including editing proposal segments, maintaining a proposal library, and ensuring compliance with RFP specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and edits non-technical sections of proposals and assists technical authors in maintaining requirements.
- Participates in cost and pricing reviews with management and customers and ensures proposals meet RFP requirements.
- Participates in cost and contractual input; identifies issues and recommends solutions.
- Prepares pre-proposal and proposal-related submissions, RFI (Requests for Information), and recommends proposal layouts.
- Develops recommendations for changes in proposal policies and standards, and maintains various electronic databases.
- Makes inputs to management on short and long-term proposal planning.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related field and three or more years of professional proposal experience.
- Must have a general understanding of proposal concepts, FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and related governmental rules and regulations, and experience applying these principles.
- Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and leadership abilities.
- Expertise in Microsoft Word, familiarity with Microsoft Project and Adobe PDF, and experience with AI tools and editing tools (Visible Thread).
- Knowledge of Shipley Method or APMP Proposal Management process is beneficial.
