Proposals Engineer - Power Generation

About the Role

Emerson is seeking a Proposal Engineer for Power Projects to join our Cranberry Township, PA office. In this role, you will lead the preparation of power project offers for customers in the power industry, focusing on retrofit proposal support within the North America Power Projects Proposals organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare DCS proposals for power industry projects in response to customer requests for proposals.
• Define proposal strategies aligned with customer specifications, organizational goals, and market insight.
• Collaborate across teams to validate technical feasibility, engineering requirements, and cost-effective solutions.
• Engage directly with customers to communicate Emerson’s capabilities and understand application needs.
• Develop optimal project cost structures to mitigate technical risk and strengthen competitive positioning.
• Support presentations, interviews, and negotiations using a thorough understanding of customer applications and Emerson products.
• Partner with sales, engineering, project teams, and global offices to deliver cohesive proposal packages.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledgeable in distributed control systems (DCS) and/or process operation.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship will not be provided).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with control systems such as PLC or SCADA.
• Knowledge of or experience with the Ovation™ DCS platform.
• Background in proposal development, cost estimating, or project engineering.
