Proposals Engineer - Hydro
About the Role
Emerson is seeking a Proposals Engineer - Hydro to lead the creation of highly competitive and strategic proposals for North America renewable energy control systems, with a primary focus in hydroelectric power. This role involves architecting solutions from both a technical and commercial perspective, including written proposals and cost estimates, to support the Power and Water Solutions business. The position can be located in Blue Bell, PA, Cranberry Township, PA, Amherst, WI, or Novi, MI.

Responsibilities
- Develop a foundation of engineering, automation, networking, and business skills.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all aspects of proposals.
- Prepare control system proposals in response to customer requests, interpreting specifications and drawings.
- Create best-cost solutions to meet customer needs while minimizing risk and maximizing profit.
- Present costs, risks, and differentiators effectively to key decision makers.
- Review purchase orders to ensure they reflect the proposed scope accurately.
- Coordinate a global team of engineers and subject-matter experts to contribute to proposal development and position project execution teams for success.
Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related STEM field, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience.
- Experience with control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA).
- Experience in the hydroelectric, solar, battery storage (BESS), and/or wind industries.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience with writing proposals and developing cost estimates.
