About the role

AECOM is seeking a Proposal Specialist II to join our Federal Marketing team. This hybrid position combines remote and in-office work and can be based in Arlington, VA or other locations. You will collaborate with highly specialized teams across Architecture, Engineering, and Environment sectors, primarily in North America (USA, Canada) and internationally, supporting Federal Defense and Civilian agency clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with large proposals and lead small to medium proposals (cross-regions or business lines), supporting from capture through to interview stage.
  • Coordinate content and information for qualifications and proposals, including schedule, templates, compliance, content plan, and production.
  • Provide conceptual leadership for document design.
  • Serve as lead writer/editor for resumes and past performance sections for proposals.
  • Facilitate color review (Pink and Red team) reviews and apply lessons learned to enhance proposals.
  • Manage proposal and presentation revisions based on feedback from review teams.
  • Participate in go/no-go and greenlight analyses, capture planning, and positioning activities.
  • Complete internal debriefs for proposals you lead and review client feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Apply company quality procedures and approval processes (legal, contracts, DOA, signatory).
  • Liaise with business line teams, operations, technical, and business development professionals to develop marketing materials (case studies, project sheets, capabilities summaries).
  • Provide guidance to entry-level proposal team members.
  • Perform self-checks of work before submission for review/approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience collaborating within a marketing team to lead and/or support proposal activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of proposal best practices and procedures, particularly for Federal RFQ/P responses.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and complex deliverables with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working within an A/E/C marketing team to lead and/or support proposals for Federal clients.
  • Experience using generative AI for market research and content development in the capture and proposal process.
  • Familiarity with SAM.gov, GovWin, FedConnect, and SalesForce.

Pay

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 yearly.

This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future. Relocation assistance and/or per diem are not offered for this position.
