Proposal Specialist

Responsibilities
- Lead RFPs, creation of Proposals and Contracts including scoping (resources, schedules, costs) and document preparation.
- Support Sales team with client and internal team communications during pre-sale stages, including monitoring Sam.gov and other RFP resources for leads.
- Identify client requirement exceptions that require Sales and/or Leadership reviews based on established company standards.
- Contribute to transition of projects from commercial to project management teams (pre- to post-sale).
- Actively self-educate on technology advancements and trends applicable to our industry.
- Create structured processes and templates to support effective and efficient Sales workflows for participants and approvers; keeping an eye on continuous improvement as we scale.
- Ownership of CRM (Salesforce) platform, including configurations and day-to-day client record management.
- Collaborate with Finance and Leadership to design and maintain effective Sales reports.
- Accountable for training internal teams on relevant Sales processes, materials and software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in relevant roles such as proposal/contract management, sales operations, inside sales, application/sales engineering; including minimum 2 years of experience in proposal/contact management.
- 2+ years industrial, utilities, or commercial construction industry experience. Power and/or hydro-generator industry experience is a huge plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contracting best practices and experience managing contract values of >$1M.
- Proven ability to interpret company strategies and translate into effective processes and materials.
- Experience working within (or closely with) Sales/Business Development teams.
- General technical acumen and experience utilizing Google and Microsoft Suites.
- Experience utilizing relevant software such as CRM, PM, ERP; some configuration experience preferred.
- Excels at creating organizational systems to balance and prioritize multiple projects.
- Creating technical content for presentations for various levels of an organization both internal and client-facing.
- Experience and comfort facilitating internal trainings and leading process/material implementations.
- Team player who can successfully balance working independently and collaborating with others.
- Strong work ethic with ability to be successful in virtual environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with clients and internal partners based on understanding and trust.
- Proven track record of responsiveness with strong time management skills.
- Exceptional communicator (written and verbally) with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to travel occasionally to client sites within North America.
Qualifications
- Power and/or hydro-generator industry: 1 year (Preferred)
- Supporting sales operations and/or inside sales: 2 years (Required)
- Proposal / Contract Management: 2 years (Required)
- Industrial, utilities, and/or commercial construction: 2 years (Required)

Screening Requirements

Location
Hybrid in-person four days a week at our Bluffdale location; remote one day a week.
