About the role
The Proposal Solution Architect for Global Solutions will serve as the technical lead and subject-matter expert, responsible for services, solution architecture, and design engineering functions. This role involves leading RFP (Request for Proposal) technical responses, shaping client vision and strategy, and developing advanced technology concepts in networking, mobility, SDN, cloud, cybersecurity, and software applications/platforms for automation, analytics, and AI.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical responses to customer RFPs and develop innovative solutions in collaboration with business units.
- Oversee end-to-end telecommunications and IT architecture for enterprise-wide system solutions, including requirements gathering, business-to-technical translation, architectural design, testing, implementation, documentation, and support.
- Develop customer technology solutions using best engineering practices and industry products/technologies.
- Coordinate or lead transitions from existing to new network and telecommunications design solutions.
- Provide technical direction and engineering expertise for network and telecommunications systems infrastructure activities, including planning, designing, and implementing communications and network infrastructure requirements.
- Develop work breakdown structures and level-of-effort estimates for opportunity capture.
- Manage and manipulate telemetry for cybersecurity and IT/software solutions related to performance, behavior, and user experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical lead or in a solutions/enterprise architect capacity.
- 5 years of experience supporting enterprise customers or carrier companies serving enterprise clients.
- Strong understanding of telecom and IT infrastructure business.
- Extensive technical knowledge of data transport services and technologies, including IP, MPLS, Ethernet, OTN, DWDM, and SDWAN.
- Working technical knowledge of networking appliances and concepts, as well as emerging technologies such as autonomous networking, SDN, NFV, Cloud, DevOps, SecDevOps, and Managed Security Services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word) and Salesforce.com.
- Flexibility to work in dynamic and ambiguous environments.
- High proficiency in technical writing, including proposal writing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with knowledge of "Solutions Selling" basics.
- Current technical certifications in telecommunications, cybersecurity, networking, software development, and/or information technology.
- Active SECRET Security clearance or higher is required.
