About the role
The Weaver State and Local Tax team is seeking a Property Tax Experienced Associate to join their dynamic team. This role involves providing property tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to a diverse client base across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Work on complex property tax engagements and research projects
- Analyze a wide range of tax issues and implications for various entities and their affiliates
- Prepare compliance filings, complete reviews, prepare valuations, and work with assessing officials
- Provide exceptional service to clients through property tax planning and compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 1-2+ years of experience with property tax compliance, planning, analysis, research, and/or property tax appeals
- Familiarity with basic tax research techniques (RIA, CCH)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- CPA Candidate, CPA, CMI, or active Texas Property Tax Consultant license
- Experience preparing property tax returns, reviewing assessments, and appeals
- Experience working in property tax and/or with property tax assessors
- Ability to analyze raw data from ERP systems to reconcile to trial balances and tax returns
- Knowledge of managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing
