About the role
The Property Manager oversees all aspects of property operations, ensuring efficient day-to-day management, resident satisfaction, and financial performance. This position manages the full resident lifecycle—from lease administration and rent collection to delinquency management—while maintaining property profitability and marketing efforts. The role also involves leading a team, fostering a positive work environment, and serving as the primary liaison between residents, the corporate office, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day property operations, including resident satisfaction, retention, lease administration, rent collection, and delinquency management.
- Oversee property profit and loss (P&L) and execute marketing strategies to attract and retain residents.
- Meet client expectations by delivering excellent customer service and maintaining compliance with the property management agreement.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and provide corrective feedback to associates while fostering a motivating work environment.
- Lead and communicate a shared vision, offering coaching and development to associates.
- Address resident complaints, enforce landlord rules, and manage common area maintenance administration.
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
- Develop and implement site emergency evacuation and natural disaster plans.
- Manage property safety records, loss claims, and risk management initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- 2–3 years of property management experience (required).
- 1–2 years of direct management experience (required).
- Knowledge of resident rental lifecycle activities (required).
- Real estate license (preferred or required in some locations).
- Familiarity with Salesforce.com (preferred).
- Experience with Yardi Voyager or equivalent property management software (preferred).

- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication across all management levels.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Discretion in handling confidential matters.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical communication skills to relay concerns accurately and efficiently.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, comprehension, and conversation).
- Proficiency with office equipment (telephone, fax, printer, copier, key track system).
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts involving difficult or angry individuals.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance (required).

Pay
$80,000 to $85,000 per year.
