Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Travel regularly to inspect properties across the assigned portfolio.
- Meet with property management during site visits to discuss property condition, outstanding repairs, and operational concerns.
- Perform physical inspections of multifamily properties, including units, common areas, site improvements, roofs, and major building systems.
- Ensure inspections are completed in accordance with applicable Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA and Greystone requirements.
- Prepare clear inspection reports with photographs, identified deficiencies, required repairs, and overall condition observations.
- Identify deferred maintenance, life-safety issues, property damage, and other physical condition concerns requiring follow-up.
- Verify completion of prior repair items, reserve-funded work, and other required corrective actions.
- Conduct walkthroughs of large properties, including stairs, roofs, and extensive exterior grounds, as needed.
- Alert Borrowers and/or on-site teams to the findings or emerging concerns on site that will need to be addressed.
- Comply with all investor monitoring, documentation, and reporting requirements.
Experience, Skills, And Abilities Required
- Strongly prefer a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience in Real Estate.
- At least 5 years of GSE experience.
- Qualified GSE Inspector with Mortgage Bankers Association, or equivalent, certification.
- Strong knowledge of the Mortgage Bankers Association inspection guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of REAC/Nspire requirements.
- Strong knowledge of the GSE and HUD inspection requirements.
- Knowledge of construction loan administration is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, with an emphasis on Excel and Word.
- A strong knowledge of real estate markets with particular emphasis on multifamily assets.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibit self-motivation whether working independently or on a team.
- An ability to execute and delegate multiple projects with deliverables to ensure that timelines and results are achieved.
Qualifications
