About the role

As a Property Desk Adjuster, you will investigate and evaluate homeowners property claims from start to finish. You will confirm the facts of loss, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements within your assigned authority. This role involves managing the entire claim lifecycle, including supplements, Additional Living Expense (ALE) claims, contents, and personal property losses. You will work closely with customers, contractors, and other partners to ensure claims are handled accurately and efficiently, delivering excellent customer service through clear, timely communication.

We are seeking an experienced Property Adjuster located in either the Central or Eastern time zone, with proficiency in Xactimate and a strong foundation in claims handling, including supplements, ALE, contents, and full claim ownership. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, excellent customer service, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Experience handling claims in both field and desk settings is strongly preferred. Holding an active adjuster license or a license qualifying for reciprocity in applicable states is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply increased experience in the Adjuster II level or rotate into a specialty position (Coverage, Investigation Specialist, Litigation, Large Loss, Water Mitigation, Desk Review).
  • Partner with fraud or subrogation reps to achieve the best outcome for claims involving these areas.
  • Recognize and identify key components of residential construction and repair, including structural integrity and home systems.
  • Identify complex customer needs and meet them using appropriate customer service skills.
  • Determine subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle it.
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, industry standards, and organizational relationships within the company and department.
  • Handle investigations regarding all aspects of complex Homeowners first-party claims (coverage, damages, and subrogation) with discretion and independence within an increased level of authority.

Pay

Base compensation offered for this role is:

  • Inside Property Cons II: $56,000.00 - $82,500.00/salary
  • Inside Property Sr. Cons I: $68,500.00 - $104,100.00/salary

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include additional components, such as incentive pay (e.g., commission or bonus), if applicable.

As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team.
