Key Responsibilities
- Count cash drops and prepare daily deposits; post checks and cash payments as required.
- Process hotel invoices promptly and in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor hotel expenses through the checkbook, procurement system, and budget controls.
- Oversee revenue and payment postings to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Generate and distribute invoices for direct bill accounts and follow up on collections.
- Affiliate with month-end closing procedures and reconciliations.
- Analyze budget vs. actual performance and present findings during monthly meetings.
- Communicate effectively with department managers and the corporate office regarding accounting-related matters.
- Affiliate with preparation of the annual hotel budget.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry required.
- Experience with OPERA Cloud strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to evaluate and make decisions quickly and accurately.
- Composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and financial information.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Additional Requirements:
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, flexibility is required.
- Employees may need to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
- Attendance at all required training sessions and meetings is mandatory.
