Property Casualty/Workers' Compensation - Director of Insurance Programs

Responsibilities

• Facilitating collaboration between multiple partnerships
• Collecting and analyzing underwriting and loss data
• Producing marketing materials for premium credit programs, bid documents, and other services/benefits offered
• Annually conducting the online renewal applications process
• Providing direction and oversight on the annual MOD rate and premium allocations
• Acting as a resource, fielding coverage questions, and providing consultation for members
• Acting as chief liaison with the insurance broker’s staff to coordinate and exchange information
• Making recommendations and presentations to the Trustees

Requirements

• Knowledge and skills in property/casualty and workers' compensation insurance, claims processes and underwriting
• State of Maine Property Casualty License
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent related experience
• 5 or more years of demonstrated experience in similar position with 2 or more years of management experience
• Knowledge of the basic principles and methods of insurance, risk management, safety, and public administration
• High intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
• Ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to handle advanced arithmetical calculations
• Ability to conduct research, analyze, and interpret information
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and good public relations with other employees, agencies, members, and the public
