Property Adjuster - Field Estimating - Rochester, NY
About the role
As a Field Property Adjuster at Allstate, you will provide exceptional service to our policyholders by traveling to customers' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. You will also handle virtual claims countrywide using platforms like Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration, with a focus on water losses to ensure customers receive high-level support and resolution.
Responsibilities
- Live into Allstate’s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring through compassionate, clear, and committed claim handling.
- Investigate property claims independently by reviewing damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, or video chat to guide them through a fast, fair, and easy claims process, incorporating their preferred communication methods.
- Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants in accordance with legal and business standards, including handling challenging situations.
- Utilize tools like estimate software, job aids, and settlement platforms while applying critical thinking to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Protect the company financially by adhering to policy agreements and maintaining clear, accurate, and timely documentation in claims systems.
Requirements
- 2 years of previous experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired.
- Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant estimating software.
- Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Residency within 50 miles of Rochester, NY is mandatory.
- Willingness and ability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch on a one to two-story roof.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as part of the job.
This position is not available for residents of California, Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.
Training
You will receive comprehensive training to build a claims foundation and understand day-to-day systems and processes. Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement are provided. You will be required to attend approximately 2 weeks of training in Dallas, TX.
As a condition of employment, you may need to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license, which includes passing an additional background check. If required, you must secure the license(s) within 60 days of hire. Individuals with an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and may not hold outside appointments during employment. Applicants with a resident producer license must formally surrender it when instructed.

Pay
Compensation for this role is $60,000.00 - $97,125.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-On Bonus if you hold an active Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or an applicable Appraiser License.
