Property Accountant

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid) Why This Opportunity Stands Out Join a well-established and growing real estate organization with a diverse multifamily portfolio Hybrid work environment offering flexibility and work-life balance Own the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of multifamily properties with strong visibility across the organization Partner directly with operations teams and leadership, giving you exposure beyond traditional accounting responsibilities Opportunity to mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to process improvements Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, and paid holidays Stable organization with long-term career growth and advancement opportunities Collaborative accounting team with a supportive culture and leadership exposure Gain experience with acquisitions, dispositions, and onboarding of new properties as the company continues to grow Key Responsibilities For The Property Accountant Manage the full-cycle accounting process for an assigned portfolio of multifamily properties Prepare monthly financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations Perform month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis Monitor cash flow, forecast cash needs, and oversee property-level banking activity Calculate and process management fees, owner distributions, accruals, and reclasses Partner with on-site property management teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Analyze financial statements and provide commentary and insights to leadership Monitor lender escrows, replacement reserves, debt service, and other property obligations Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, audits, and special projects Support acquisitions, dispositions, and onboarding of new properties Qualifications For The Property Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 3+ years of property accounting experience required Experience managing the full accounting cycle for multiple properties Experience with Yardi, RealPage, MRI, or similar property accounting software Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
