Propane Transport Driver

About the role

Join the Tiger Fuel team as a full-time Class-A Transport Driver with a focus on Propane and cross-trained in Petroleum. You'll be home every day—no over-the-road travel—driving a transport truck to haul liquid propane to various Tiger locations. The transport driver monitors all loading and unloading equipment (pumps, valves, hoses) to ensure safety for themselves and customers.

Available shifts may include Sunday through Thursday from 2 am to 2 pm, with opportunities to pick up extra shifts for overtime.

Responsibilities

• Drive a transport truck to haul liquid propane to Tiger locations
• Monitor loading and unloading equipment (pumps, valves, hoses) for safety
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, logistics, and customers
• Verify quantities and volumes using high-school-level math
• Read and understand road signs, instructions, routes, and paperwork
• Maintain a positive attitude with customers, coworkers, and other drivers, including patience during load/wait times and traffic

Requirements

• CDL A license with Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements and a valid medical card
• Minimum of one year of experience driving large trucks
• Physically capable of loading/unloading transport trucks, including pulling hoses, climbing onto the tanker, and heavy lifting (e.g., hoses/nozzles weighing 50 lbs)
• Experience driving in snow, ice, and other weather conditions, and maneuvering in tight quarters
• Acceptable driving record with no major convictions
• Pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen

Working Conditions

• Primarily outside work, driving a large fuel vehicle
• Able to drive for long periods
• Physically challenging position with frequent climbing on/off the truck and fueling
• Exposure to dust, fumes, high noise levels, and occasional hazardous conditions (e.g., weather, tight quarters, blighted areas)
• May require alternative shifts, long hours, weekends, or additional assigned loads in compliance with DOT regulations

Pay

$27 per hour, increased to $28 after training.
