About the role
Pico Propane and Fuels, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company in Caldwell, TX is seeking a dedicated Propane (LP) Delivery Driver to provide propane deliveries to our commercial and residential customers in a safe and efficient manner, with a key focus on customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Complies with all city, state, and federal regulations
- Loads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locations
- Performs pre and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
- Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven in compliance with all DOT regulations
- Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
- Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
- Upholds excellent company representation standards and equipment presentation
- Works to exceed customer expectations through effective communication and service
- Ensures customer safety through prefill inspections, awareness and system testing, as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills/Abilities
- Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
- Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
- Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Class A CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements required
- Must meet all DOT requirements
- Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
- No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years
- 3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution business
- 1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years
Physical, Mental, And Behavioral Requirements
- Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 80 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift
- Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
- Good hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night
- Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms
- Must be able to speak and hear
- Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider
- Must pass pre-employment screening
- Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
- Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, airborne particles and gases is common
