Role Overview

We’re looking for an AI Prompt Quality Specialist to support and improve Apricot’s growing portfolio of prompts. This is a semi-technical role - you’ll work closely with data and systems, but you don’t need an engineering background. Success requires sharp writing, strong analytical thinking, and comfort applying compliance standards while solving complex problems. You’ll be part of a team focused on refining prompt quality over time - learning from real usage, testing improvements, and helping raise the bar across the product.

This role will review prompt performance, investigate why prompts succeed or fail, and iterate line by line to make them better. You’ll collaborate with product managers, customer experience specialists, clinical specialists, and data analysts to ensure Apricot’s prompts are accurate, compliant, and consistently improving.

What You’ll Do

  • Write and edit prompts with precision, balancing compliance requirements with usability and innovation.
  • Monitor dashboards and metrics to track prompt performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prioritize work based on quantitative data, customer feedback, and clinical team insights.
  • Backtest and diagnose underperforming prompts, then refine and re-measure.
  • Collaborate with clinical specialists to build domain expertise and with product/design to shape prompt workflows.
  • Consume data from analyst partners to guide decisions—no coding required.
  • Stay current with best practices in prompt design and LLM research, bringing fresh methods to the team.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • AI Enthusiast: You’re genuinely curious about AI, routinely experiment with AI workflows and tools, and are excited about exploring their potential.
  • Sharp Writer & Critical Reader: You have excellent writing, editing, and critical reading skills, with a keen eye for detail and clarity.
  • Analytical Mindset: You know how to analyze data, spot patterns, and build evidence-based insights and hypotheses.
  • Problem Solver: You enjoy diagnosing issues and iterating your way to thoughtful, effective solutions.
  • Compliance-Minded Innovator: You understand the guardrails of compliance but still look for creative ways to move work forward.
  • Collaborative Partner: You thrive working cross-functionally with product, clinical, design, and engineering teams.
  • Curious & Adaptable: You dive into new domains quickly, staying flexible and open as things evolve.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in a regulated or compliance-heavy field (healthcare, legal, finance, education).
  • Background in technical writing, medical writing, product operations, QA, or content strategy.
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows or clinical documentation.

Why Join Apricot

At Apricot, we’re on a mission to help nurses spend more time with patients and less time on paperwork. Prompts are central to how our product works—this role ensures they are accurate, compliant, and effective. We are a team that values curiosity, candor, and momentum. We debate ideas, test quickly, and iterate together. Every voice matters here—including yours.

If you want to see your work directly translate into improvements for clinicians and patients, you’ll thrive at Apricot. We hire for capability—not tenure. If you can demonstrate the outcomes above, you meet the requirement regardless of years in role.
