About the Role
Supports resort operations by performing project-driven maintenance tasks that require multiple trade skills, including drywall, painting, texture finishing, plumbing, electrical work, and flooring repairs at Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This role offers an amazing work environment with refreshing mountain breezes and spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains, alongside engaging with guests and utilizing world-class amenities like the state-of-the-art Wild Bear Falls water park.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventative maintenance as instructed by resort leadership.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures and piping.
- Troubleshoot, replace, and repair minor electrical components such as receptacles and ballasts.
- Troubleshoot and repair household appliances and fixtures.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC equipment.
- Repair interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, and ceilings, including texture, painting, and caulking.
- Repair and replace tile and grout, vinyl, and/or carpet as applicable.
- Work with pools, spas, and features, including chemical balancing and cleaning duties.
- Actively participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are on-site for work.
- Effectively operate resort operations devices and software (e.g., HotSOS).
- Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
- Perform custodial and maintenance duties as required by resort leadership.
- Safely use hand tools, electrical, and battery-powered tools required by the job.
- Work using ladders, scaffolds, and lifts while utilizing appropriate PPE.
- Follow safety guidelines and practices, and identify potential safety or security hazards on the property.
- Communicate and interpret guest needs by positively interacting toward resolutions.
- Comply with all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
- Represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, dress, and behavior.
- Other duties as assigned by resort operations leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma.
- 1-3 years of hands-on trade and maintenance experience in a resort or commercial environment.
- Written and verbal communication in English.
- Effective communication with immediate supervisors and resort leadership.
- At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license to drive company golf carts.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.
