About the role
MSS Fire and Security, LLC is seeking an experienced Project Technician – Fire I to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute fresh ideas, collaborate with top talent, and make a meaningful impact on our customers' safety and security.
Responsibilities
- Install and certify fire safety product lines.
- Guide installation processes to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Add devices to existing systems and certify systems after modifications.
- Perform minor repairs and programming changes to maintain system reliability.
- Interact with customers or general contractors to ensure work meets expectations.
- Communicate schedule, material needs, or job-related issues with the Project Management team.
- Complete assigned tasks on time.
- Support emergency service call-outs on a rotational basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in commercial/industrial fire alarm systems.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and parts manuals for diagnosing and repairing equipment.
- Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work on lifts and ladders.
- Must possess hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands
- Occasional sitting; frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing.
- Constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping.
- Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent material handling up to 50 lbs. and constant handling up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment
- Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, and high noise intensity levels.
- Atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Wet and/or humid environments, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts.
