Project Surveyor, Part Time - Tacoma
About the role
The Surveying and Geomatics Business Unit at David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) is seeking a Part Time Project Surveyor in Tacoma, WA. This role involves guiding the technical execution of various survey projects, working closely with clients and internal teams, and fostering professional growth within the team.
Responsibilities
- Develop scopes, schedules, and budgets for a variety of survey projects
- Perform research and calculations in multiple jurisdictions
- Lead Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for deliverables across boundary, control, and construction-related surveys
- Build and maintain client relationships within the region
- Cook up and coordinate with other DEA business units on integrated project delivery
- Mentor and support field and office staff to advance their development within the profession
Requirements
- Washington Professional Land Surveyor license, or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Ability to independently manage projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience mentoring junior staff and directing technical work
- Proficiency with CAD and land surveying software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads)
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
