About the role
The Project Surveyor is responsible for performing field surveys, managing data collection, and supporting the preparation of survey deliverables for a variety of projects. This position ensures accuracy in boundary, topographic, construction, and utility surveys and contributes to high-quality project execution.
Responsibilities
- Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction stakeout, and utility surveys.
- Operate total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, data collectors, and other survey instruments.
- Supervise and mentor field crews as needed.
- Ensure survey accuracy through proper field procedures and quality control measures.
- Collect, process, and manage field data for integration into CAD and mapping systems.
- Cook up with engineers, project managers, and clients to clarify scope and field requirements.
- Maintain field notes, documentation, and project records in accordance with company standards.
- Adhere to and comply with Company Safety Protocol and Procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent field experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing land surveying fieldwork.
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and data collectors.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or progress toward licensure (preferred).
- Experience with ALTA/NSPS surveys and construction stakeout (preferred).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other survey processing software (preferred).
- Experience leading survey crews (preferred).
