About the role
The Project Support Engineer provides project engineering services supporting various systems including CNO Avails, EMAVs, CMAVs, and WOOs. They also offer maintenance availability planning support, project engineering support, and KE/MS certifications support.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance Availability Planning Support:
- Third Party Planning Work Specification reviews
- Pre-availability planning meeting support
- Validation of GMP
- Engineering Service Requests
- Process Control Procedure support
- DFS review and support
- Project Engineering Support:
- Represent NSA as technical POC for Contracted Maintenance Availabilities
- Review Conditions Found Reports, Requests for Contract Changes, and Reserved Task Requests to ensure technical compliance
- Initiate, track, and respond to ESRs as required
- Initiate Corrective Action Reports as necessary
- Initiate LARs and forward to appropriate planning yards
- Cookordination FTA visits for CASREPs and other routine assistance
- KE/MS Certifications Support:
- Work Certifications to include Work Complete certs
- Coordinate with applicable tech. codes during CNO Avails, EMAVs, CMAVs, and WOOs
- Validate ESRs
- Verify DFS impact to KE/MS
- Validate PCP and Approved Technical Procedures satisfy customer requirements
- Verify impact of FTA to KE/MS
- Verify MTR completion, as applicable, to KE/MS
- Attend IPTD and execution certification meetings as necessary
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance.
- Associate Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related field
- 7 to 10 years of shipboard HM&E experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with naval engineering key performance tracking metrics, technical writing, and system validation procedures.
- Ability to execute physical shipboard surveys or technical documentation audits in accordance with assigned division protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation pertaining to critical shipboard assessments
- Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- MS Office suite proficiency required
- Have completed, or ability to complete, local RMC Job Certification Requirements training within two years of hire.
- Direct knowledge of NAVOSH program
- Direct knowledge of Navy Tag-Out Users’ Manual requirements
- Familiarity with Navy 3M program
- Familiarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirements
- Familiarity with MFOM/ NMD/ VSB/ eDFS/ eCASREP/ and NDE a plus
- Ability to use clear and concise oral and written communications
