Project Superintendent

About the role

For assigned projects, plan and direct construction operations to ensure successful completion of contract work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement schedules and work plans for assigned projects
• Communicate with customers and project team members to coordinate job schedule, changes, and address construction issues
• Provide direction to field personnel and ensure all work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Ensure project documentation and quantity reporting is accurate and complete
• Develop submittals, change orders, and pay requests as assigned
• Resolve or participate in resolving construction problems
• Review and evaluate daily costs, time sheets, truck and equipment usage
• Monitor employee compliance with safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented
• Coordinate with other departments (Quality Control, Equipment) to ensure required materials, equipment, and inspections support craft activities and project schedule

Requirements

• Five to ten years of experience in heavy highway and site development preferred
• Experience with asphalt, concrete, excavation, and underground utility construction required
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Good organization skills
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential
• Leadership and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated; ability to work independently
• Good written and verbal communication skills
