Overview

Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste. Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a (PSTR) Project Subcontractor Technical Representative - Maintenance Subcontracts and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and direction of field construction activities for assigned projects
  • Enforcement of contract terms and conditions
  • Subcontract closeout duties and assistance in subcontract award
  • Managing up to fifteen (15) complex and/or noncomplex subcontracts
  • Scheduling, coordinating, and managing contractors/subcontractors
  • Forming and leading diverse technical background teams for assessments and documenting results
  • Executing field maintenance/construction activities in compliance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards
  • Controlling project schedule and cost through efficient resource use including workforce, materials, tools, and equipment
  • Evaluating subcontractor productivity, schedule adherence, change management, and invoicing
  • Performing subcontract closeout, resolving outstanding issues, assisting in final modifications, invoices, and performance evaluations
  • Actively participating in safety culture development on the project
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or business administration with five (5) years of experience managing/supervising construction projects, service contracts, and/or maintenance/repair activities
  • Associate’s degree in construction management or business administration with nine (9) years of experience managing/supervising construction projects, service contracts, and/or maintenance/repair activities
  • High School Diploma or equivalency with thirteen (13) years of experience managing/supervising construction projects, service contracts, and/or maintenance/repair activities
  • At least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances

Preferred Requirements

  • Ten (10) years in a construction, maintenance, or project management field
  • Previous experience working at a nuclear and/or DOE facility
  • OSHA 30, Applicable Safety Certificates and/or other industry specific training
  • Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus
  • Experience in subcontract management, subcontract administration, and/or procurement experience supporting engineering and construction projects
  • Experience with administering the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for subcontractors on maintenance and industrial construction projects
  • Experience in conducting commercial evaluations, including the questions and answers (Q&A) and clarifications process with bidders
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to achieve project goals
