Job Summary

TYLin is seeking a Project Structural Engineer to join their growing Buildings Sector team in Ann Arbor, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering for buildings, including new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation.

Responsibilities

  • Structural design and analysis for a wide range of buildings projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
  • Assisting in the preparation of drawings and specifications.
  • Conducting site investigations to document existing conditions.
  • Coinciding with staff and clients on projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Master’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering would be considered an asset.
  • P.E. license preferred; S.E. license would be considered an asset.
  • 3-6 years of experience in the execution of residential, commercial, or institutional buildings projects as a Structural Engineer is required.
  • Experience in historic buildings preservation would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with computer analysis software (e.g. RISA, SAP, RAM).
  • Working knowledge of REVIT.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
