Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages junior project managers, either within the organization structure of a large capital project or multiple smaller projects.
  • Fosters client relationships and resolves issues escalated by junior project managers.
  • Guides project teams through the collaborative delivery process.
  • Manages project lifecycle from procurement through preconstruction, construction, and close out.
  • Captors corporate resources to the benefit of project success.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 10 years of relevant project delivery experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Must have GC/CM or similar collaborative project delivery model experience.
  • Extensive experience executing complex water/wastewater heavy civil construction projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater project experience.
  • Experience working with clients in the greater northern California region.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.
  • Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. The salary range for this position is between $220,000 - $270,000 per year depending on experience and/or education. Shimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical, dental and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in an FSA or HSA.
