About the role

The Deloitte Finance Transformation team helps CFOs, controllers, and finance teams define and execute their finance and global business services agendas and strategies. You will work with leading-class teams and solutions, helping clients navigate challenging environments, market uncertainty, technology development, and regulatory considerations to unlock value.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial transactions and supporting documentation to determine appropriate proprietary and budgetary accounting treatment and general ledger impact
  • Prepare, validate, and post journal entries and reconciliations to support quarter-end and year-end close activities
  • Support governmental financial reporting in alignment with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-136 and internal reporting requirements
  • Execute controls and documentation activities in alignment with OMB Circular A-123 and established standard operating procedures
  • Follow standard operating procedures and accounting policies to produce complete, accurate, timely, and audit-ready workpapers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve accounting variances, address data issues, and improve close and reporting processes

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active TS SCI clearance with polygraph
  • 1+ years of experience in governmental accounting, including OMB Circular A-136, OMB Circular A-123, proprietary and budgetary accounting, and financial reporting
  • Ability to work onsite 100% of the time in McLean, Virginia

Preferred

  • Experience preparing and posting journal entries and reconciliations
  • Experience supporting quarter-end and year-end close activities
  • Experience developing or supporting governmental financial reports
  • Experience executing controls and documentation activities in a regulated environment

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $97,700 to $162,800.

The team focuses on delivering services to clients, without additional expectations related to business development or promotion. Employment is tied to their role on a project, and they are eligible for a benefits package that is competitive for project delivery-focused professionals.
