Project Scientist/Manager To best integrate into our existing exceptional team, the ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, career-oriented scientist with the ability to apply technical and critical thinking skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients. We are looking for a team member that is knowledgeable of environmental science principles and policies. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience (working in environmental consulting or other applicable environmental sector). Responsibilities Champion quality and demonstrate leadership by personal high standards for work processes and products and exemplary service to clients.Schedule, oversee and/or complete field work at locations across the country.Prepare technical reports for delivery to clients, perform quality control review, and maintain deliverable quality to meet internal and client requirements.Actively support and participate in the company health and safety program by teaching and enforcing health and safety standards, regulations, and procedures.Be open to professional development opportunities including training in a variety of technical and project management areas and mentoring from senior staff. Qualifications BS or MS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field with at least 5 years of environmental consulting experienceHold professional registration or certification a plus Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independentlyAbility to organize and manage field sampling efforts, manage large amounts of laboratory data, analyze information, and prepare technical reportsAbility to interact/negotiate with regulatory personnel, contractors and clients Detail-oriented and timely in completing assignments and contribute to a positive work environmentAbility to balance personal and project workloads and schedules to accommodate multiple projects Works well as an independent but accountable team memberStrong oral and written communication skills; experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge and compliance expertiseStrong personal safety cultureFlexibility to work outside normal business hours as required40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training in accordance with 29CFR 1910.120Proficient in MS office Preferred Experience Hands-on experience with designing and implementing UST Removal Closure Assessments, Site Assessment/Characterization and Remediation associated with petroleum products, including data evaluation and reporting.Experience with completing and/or updating Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans at active vehicle maintenance facilities, including project reporting.Hands-on experience implementing drainage surveys to maintain compliance with regulatory discharge permitting requirements and/or facilitate flow.Experience completing Wastewater Discharge Permits and associated Discharge Monitoring Reports.Experience with the operation and maintenance of oil/water separators.Hands-on Project Management experience including project scope development, project implementation and/or oversight, budget management and invoicing. The position is a salaried position with bonus opportunity and the work hours are flexible, targeting 43-45 hours per week, consistent with the industry standard. The position will require out-of-town travel, potentially up to 35%.
