Braun Intertec is a 100% employee-owned environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, and testing firm with 1,000 employees across 10 states. This role will lead and manage environmental projects, including due diligence, spill response, assessment, cleanup, soil and groundwater investigations, and remediation implementation and oversight.

About the role

This position involves all aspects of project management, including budgeting, proposal writing, client and subcontractor communication, project setup and oversight, and directing field staff. You will mentor junior staff and coordinate internal and external resources to complete projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and related soil, vapor, and groundwater contaminant investigations
  • Manage active remediation sites and related services
  • Generate cost estimates for environmental investigation and remediation projects
  • Coordinate, perform, and direct staff and subcontractors for field tasks
  • Train and mentor new staff
  • Prepare and execute scope of work proposals
  • Produce and review applicable reports and regulatory documents
  • Manage projects for the entire life cycle, including direct communications with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • B.S. degree or higher in Geology, Earth or Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
  • 3-5 years of related experience in environmental assessment and remediation through Texas-based regulatory programs
  • Experience with the following regulatory programs and regulations:
    • Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
    • Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC)
    • Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP)
    • Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP)
    • Industrial and Hazardous Waste (IHW) Corrective Action Program
    • Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank (LPST) Program

Skills

  • Ability to independently analyze and interpret technical reports, guidance documents, and governmental regulations
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Effective communication with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to independently solve practical problems and manage daily project variables
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills to keep projects on schedule and within budget

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Geoscientist (P.G.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • Geologist-in-Training (GIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with desire to obtain P.G. or P.E.
  • Spill response, remediation oversight, and associated reporting
  • Industrial compliance experience
  • Demonstrated history of client development and/or staff supervision

Pay

Compensation range: $73,000.00 - $109,000.00
