Essential Responsibilities
- Manage routine to complex projects with strict adherence to schedule, budget, and quality.
- Plan and lead field-based investigations of multiple environmental media (e.g., surface water, sediment, pore water, soil, and biological communities/tissue) in various aquatic and terrestrial systems.
- Ensure field programs are conducted in accordance with investigation work plans, data quality objectives, and standard operating procedures.
- Lead analysis of environmental data in support of investigation objectives using Microsoft Excel and statistical software (e.g., R).
- Prepare high-quality technical deliverables and presentations for effective communication of investigation findings.
- Support development of ecological risk assessments under federal and state regulatory programs, including Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
- Mentor and upskill junior team members.
Specific Experience and Skills
- 8+ years of experience in consulting.
- Commitment to a behavior-based safety culture.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proven field leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and developing staff.
- Strong knowledge of field instrumentation and monitoring equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with regulations and guidance for remedial investigation and risk assessment under state and federal programs (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA).
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Education and Licenses
- Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, ecology, environmental science, natural resources, toxicology or a related field.
