Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules using tools like Asta Power Project, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
- Collaborate with project managers, craft superintendents, engineers, estimators, and subcontractors to gather schedule input.
- Identify task dependencies, durations, and sequencing to build a realistic timeline.
- Monitor construction progress and update schedules based on field data (including Stratus) and reports.
- Flag delays and schedule variances and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Assist project teams in coordinating resource availability.
- Generate and distribute schedule reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in claims analysis and recovery planning when delays occur.
- Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling requirements.
- Support project forecasting by furnishing management with schedule-based products, such as projected cost/billing curves, man-hour burndown curves, and asset histograms.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.).
- Understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) and other scheduling techniques.
- Good grasp of common tasks and sequences associated with plumbing and mechanical systems installation, to include estimating/pre-con, VDC/BIM, procurement, fabrication, field installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Understand the life cycle of a construction project from concept to maintenance and be able to provide scheduling support to enhance company performance in all phases.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with Earned Value Management and progress reporting.
- Familiarity with general construction workflows, permitting, and inspection timelines.
- Identify schedule variances and design recovery schedule options for management review.
- Identify plumbing and mechanical activities that impact GC/Owner critical path and make proactive recommendations to resolve.
- Understand cost loading and work with project management teams to recommend appropriate strategies to support positive cash flow early in the project.
- Assist project managers to ensure that schedule activities correlate to cost codes, to the billing schedule of values, and (for BIM projects) to Stratus packages.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Associate’s degree with relevant experience may also be considered.
Certifications
- Software-specific certification (Asta, P6, MS Project) preferred.
- Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) by AACE International is preferred.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in construction scheduling.
- Experience working on multi-phase or large-scale construction projects.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) for integrated planning.
- Previous work with the market segments we serve, including government, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, college campuses, high-rise, commercial, and industrial (manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, power, refinery, steel).
- Previous experience with lean construction principles and agile scheduling methods.
- Previous experience in scheduling plumbing and mechanical (pipe and duct) scopes as well as common mechanical support scopes, such as insulation and controls.
