Responsibilities
- Organize, implement and maintain scheduling management system supporting identified projects and their plans.
- Aid in setting up tasks and sub-tasks to ensure the successful execution of project contracts and requirements as scheduled.
- Log project timelines and maintain P6 database of tasks and their status.
- Enter all new information into the P6 database and prepare scheduled reports for contract coordination and reporting.
- Interact with project staff and project stakeholders to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
- Design and develop project schedules.
- Collaborate with project teams and contractors to define the scope of work, develop and update detailed schedules, and identify variances from the original plan.
- Analyze the critical path and constraints to determine the impact of schedule changes and recommend alternative work paths.
- Develop and update weekly schedules, working with superintendents, field engineers, and project managers.
- Support the project management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems.
- Aid the project team in developing and maintaining periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
- Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
- Interact with project team members, contractors, cost engineers, and management.
Requirements
- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders to receive and produce schedule information.
- Must be able to participate fully in all project and department meetings and discussions.
- Must understand how to operate in a P6 environment, including knowledge in layouts, activity codes, resources, groups, sorting, and reporting.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- PMP or other PMI certification would be beneficial but not required.
- PSP or CST or other AACEI certification would be beneficial but not required.
- Knowledge of Schedule Quality practices in regards to P6 schedules would be beneficial but not required.
- Project Gating procedures knowledge would be beneficial but not required.
- Prior work experience in SQL coding is a plus.
Qualifications
Must have a High School Education, but an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's degree, or Master's Degree will be considered in the selection process.
Skills
- PMP or other PMI certification (beneficial but not required).
- PSP or CST or other AACEI certification (beneficial but not required).
- Knowledge of Schedule Quality practices in regards to P6 schedules (beneficial but not required).
- Project Gating procedures knowledge (beneficial but not required).
- Prior work experience in SQL coding (plus).
