Responsibilities
- Prior to project start, assist in creating the baseline schedule for the project detailing the sequence of all work to be performed.
- Interpret and read detailed construction plans, specifications and contract requirements to develop a clear understanding of project scope.
- Work with the pre-construction group to assist in meeting schedule and timeline requirements.
- Maintain the schedule for a project and identify and record the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled.
- Work with the project teams to evaluate actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates, including submission to the owner.
- Interface with Operations and Subcontractors to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
- Effectively communicate with the Contractor regarding all schedule/progress related matters and concerns.
- Serve as technical advisor for the solution of difficult production problems.
- Consult the appropriate project team members and estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work.
- Travel to project sites as needed to evaluate schedule progress; report status to the project and company leadership.
- Aid Project Managers in creating short-term schedules, monitor such schedules to determine Impact on the project schedule, and help resolve any schedule problems.
- Provide information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedule.
- Maintain knowledge of MasTec’s company values and strategic plan.
- Support published corporate policies.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
Qualifications
- 3 years of construction Scheduling experience in the field with a focus on electrical work (preferred).
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field from an accredited institution. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Scheduling experience and/or training.
- Experienced in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries.
- Ability to effectively present information to management.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
