Responsibilities

  • Prior to project start, assist in creating the baseline schedule for the project detailing the sequence of all work to be performed.
  • Interpret and read detailed construction plans, specifications and contract requirements to develop a clear understanding of project scope.
  • Work with the pre-construction group to assist in meeting schedule and timeline requirements.
  • Maintain the schedule for a project and identify and record the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled.
  • Work with the project teams to evaluate actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates, including submission to the owner.
  • Interface with Operations and Subcontractors to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
  • Effectively communicate with the Contractor regarding all schedule/progress related matters and concerns.
  • Serve as technical advisor for the solution of difficult production problems.
  • Consult the appropriate project team members and estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to evaluate schedule progress; report status to the project and company leadership.
  • Aid Project Managers in creating short-term schedules, monitor such schedules to determine Impact on the project schedule, and help resolve any schedule problems.
  • Provide information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedule.
  • Maintain knowledge of MasTec’s company values and strategic plan.
  • Support published corporate policies.
  • Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of construction Scheduling experience in the field with a focus on electrical work (preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field from an accredited institution. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Scheduling experience and/or training.
    • Experienced in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
    • Strong time management skills.
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries.
    • Ability to effectively present information to management.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
