About the role
The Project Scheduler will assist in the oversight and coordination of projects for a large electric utility client. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in scheduling complex projects and programs related to the planning, design and construction of electrical grid infrastructure. This role will have client-facing responsibilities and requires expertise in navigating the regulatory landscape and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining and driving engineering and construction schedules for various sized transmission & distribution projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities located throughout the United States
- Working with Project Management using earned value management techniques to ensure that schedule and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
- Closely partnering with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
- Developing and producing schedule weekly/monthly project control reports for client and internal management review, which includes resource loading analysis and schedules, critical path items and risk analysis
- Interfacing directly with the client and internal management to report progress, schedule and risks across a portfolio of electrical distribution projects
- Aiding the project manager with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI tracking
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or Finance
- Minimum of three (3) + years of relevant Primavera P6 scheduling experience
- Recent and in-depth knowledge of electric power infrastructure projects within transmission or distribution design
- Capability for planning, organizing, directing and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasks
- Ability to track cost and schedule status of assigned tasks
- Effective interaction with customer representatives
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency utilizing MS Project and MS Office suite with a heavy emphasis on MS Excel
- Previous experience working with Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities is preferred, but not required
